1. To support and
advocate for an environment in long-term care facilities where residents,
families, staff, and community can live and work together in a way that
puts people first and focuses on caring for the whole person.
2. Visit nursing homes and personal care boarding homes in the state
and assist residents and family members in resolving issues relating
to care and residents' rights.
3. In addition, the program provides:

and assistance to consumers on choosing a long-term care facility.

Education
on residents' rights for facility staff, residents and the community.

Advocacy
for needed improvement in legislation and policies affecting the
long-term care residents.
